Oral clinical manifestations and their relationship with rheumatoid arthritis
Synopsis
Objective: To verify the relationship between oral manifestations and rheumatoid arthritis in patients who come to the rheumatology office of the HCMM. Juliaca. 2020. Materials and methods: the present investigation is of a correlational, observational, prospective level, having made a single measurement for what is considered cross-sectional, 576 people were considered as the universe of which by statistical formula we obtained 144 people to be considered In our sample, in whom the technique of clinical observation and inspection of the oral cavity was used, recording it in the instrument designed for our purpose, the results obtained were analyzed in a systematization matrix to find the percentages and frequencies while performing the To test the hypothesis, the chi-square statistical test was used. Results: of 144 patients who come to the rheumatology service, 91% were diagnosed with late rheumatoid arthritis while the remaining 9% have early rheumatoid arthritis, with respect to gingivitis 82.6%, have mild gingivitis, 82.6% have no alteration gingival, 36.1% have moderate chronic periodontitis and 18.1% do not have periodontal disease, as for xerostomia, 18.1% present it while 32.6% do not; Regarding aphthous stomatitis, 91.0% did not present it and 9% did. Conclusion: it has been possible to establish that there is a causal relationship (p value = 0.011 = 1.1% <0.05) between oral clinical manifestations with rheumatoid arthritis, of patients who come to the rheumatology office of the HCMM Juliaca. 2019.
